Armor All Driver Donny Schatz wins the 51st Knoxville Nationals

On Saturday August 13th, Donny Schatz, driver of the Number 15 STP/Armor All Sprint Car, won his 5^th Knoxville Nationals title at the historic raceway in Knoxville, IA. 

Knoxville Nationals is affectionately known as the “Super Bowl” of Sprint Car racing.  This is another enviable milestone in Schatz’s career making him 1 of only 2 drivers to win the Knoxville Nationals at least 5 times.  This is Donny’s 5^th Knoxville Nationals title in six years!  

Donny started this year’s race in the 13^th slot of the 24 car field but was able to swiftly maneuver through the pack and with a bold, “3 car wide” move in turn 3 of lap 14, he gained the lead for the rest of the 50 lap contest. It’s rare that a driver has won this race after starting so far back in the field.
